Chwarae Teg is a charity whose objective is to inspire, lead and deliver gender equality within Wales They were commissioned by Welsh Government to deliver ‘Agile Nation 2’, a project to assist Welsh businesses adopt improved business practices.
Like many local businesses, Leabold took full advantage of the opportunities provided under Agile to review its processes and policies. During this, we began to appreciate how our instinct and approach to diversity connected with wider opportunities to improve and grow the business.
As part of this, we took steps to widen our own consideration of potential new employee and actively encouraged partners assisting us in recruitment look beyond the narrow range of candidate typically preferred for financial services roles.
Our approach to recruitment has not only resulted in us taking on some amazing new people but has driven changes in working arrangements that has significantly improved quality of life for so many of our existing employees. We see diversity as a strength and something that we are consistently striving towards in the firm to provide the best services we can.
It is because of this that we entered for the Fairplay Employer award. It is an award based on precisely what we are trying to achieve and accredits the hard work we’re put into something we believe is very different within the financial services industry.
